PHYSICAL THERAPY Mandeville, LA

History:

We opened our Mandeville clinic in 2016. At that time traffic patterns were becoming more and more congested along Hwy 190 and Hwy 59. Patients who live in Mandeville were having an increasingly difficult time fighting traffic to get to appointments in our Covington clinic.

By opening the Mandeville clinic, we were better able to serve these patients and provide greater convenience. We also entered into relationships with Mandeville health clubs so that our Mandeville patients could enjoy some of the fitness benefits that we offer in our Covington location.

Our staff in Mandeville is a tightly knit group of professionals. They are all focused on continuously providing a superior patient experience every single visit.

Staff:

Maria Senette, DPT, Clinic Director

Maria Senette

Maria is a true Mandeville native with deep local roots. She attended Saint Scholastica Academy for high school and then graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2003. She then went to University of St. Augustine to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2006.

Maria specializes in Manual Therapy and Dry Needling. Maria even has a significant patient population that just visits her for regular dry needling “touch-ups” when they have exercise based soreness.

Maria has a core team of staff that have become like family since this clinic opened.

Specialities:

In our Mandeville clinic we excel at treating the following types of conditions:

Headaches

Back & Neck Pain

Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Problems

Balance and Dizziness

Hip and Knee Problems

Ankle and Foot Injuries

We utilize an individualized approach of hands-on, manual therapy as well as exercise based therapy.

Massage may be a key component of your care if there are muscular problems present. Also we will usually include stretching to help normalize posture, and strengthening to return normal stability.

We also perform Functional Capacity Evaluations in our Mandeville clinic. This is a 4 hour analysis that determines an individual’s ability to return to a specific job after injury.

We utilize the Cervical and Lumbar spinal strength testing and spinal strengthening computerized equipment in our Mandeville location. This equipment allows us to measure an individual’s spinal strength. It also allows us to safely and effectively strengthen the spinal muscles until normal levels have been achieved.

The vast majority of people who have suffered with neck and back pain for over 3 weeks have significant weakness in these areas. The MedX allows us to return many patients to normal spinal strength. We find that when this happens, there is a marked reduction of pain.

In fact it is often the case that until a neck or back patient reaches normal strength, their pain remains very significant.
