Physical Therapy Covington, LA

History:

STAR Physical Therapy Covington, LA, the original STAR clinic was our first location. When we opened the Covington clinic in 2001, we were initially located on the Hwy 190 Service Road, but as we grew and demand for our services increased, we needed a larger facility. In 2006 we finished construction at our present location, 340 Falconer Drive.  This is a full-service, 11,500 square foot facility. It also contains STAR Fitness Center, which we created to provide fitness services to our patients as well as the community at large.

Our Physical Therapists are passionate about helping our patients return to their highest level of pain-free function. However, our biggest “win” is when we are also able to help a patient become engaged in an independent exercise program. We know it is only through a consistent, safe and effective exercise program, that individuals are able to reach and maintain their best health. To that end we have developed innovative approaches to exercise and coaching to help people of all levels of fitness succeed.

Specialities:

In our Physical Therapy Covington, LA clinic we excel at treating the following types of conditions:

Headaches

Back & Neck Pain

Speech Therapy

Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Problems

Balance and Dizziness

Hip and Knee Problems

Ankle and Foot Injuries

We utilize the Cervical and Lumbar spinal strength testing and spinal strengthening computerized equipment. This equipment allows us to measure an individual’s spinal strength. It also allows us to safely and effectively strengthen the spinal muscles until normal levels have been achieved.

The vast majority of people who have suffered with neck and back pain for over 3 weeks have significant weakness in these areas. The MedX allows us to return many patients to normal spinal strength. We find that when this happens, there is a marked reduction of pain. In fact it is often the case that until a neck or back patient reaches normal strength, their pain remains very significant.

Additionally, we offer Speech Therapy services at our Covington location. Call for more information!
